I people are trying to survive with

I believe that the character of the 21st century will be more prone to war rather than peace. One of the first main reasons that the 21st century will be more chaotic is the competition of political power within each nation as well as on the international stage. Developing countries do not have strong political institutions. They are weak which causes chaos during political elections making them more war prone. On the international stage nations are wanting to be looked at as the top dog and feared by other nations. Because of this, nations may be more likely to risk war in order be the most powerful.

Another reason that I believe it will be more war prone is because of competition for economic recourses. A majority of the people living in developing countries live in extreme poverty where they are earning no money. These people are trying to survive with no basic human needs like shelter, food, clothes, water, etc. In regard to this people are turning to crime, like theft, to attain what they can’t afford. This is just causing bubbling under the surface that can ultimately lead to overthrowing governments and trying to restore some order to the chaos making these places again more war prone. It is not just in developing nations but the competition for recourses amongst countries is another issue. Nations are constantly fighting for oil and other natural recourses which causes a more chaotic environment.

Finally, another factor in a war prone environment is social issues. Historically this century is characterized with social injustices. This is not just in developing nations but in the U.S. as well. People are tired of being mistreated and misrepresented by the government. People are no longer accepting the social norms that are in place and want change. This hostility causes our strength as a nation to weaken. As the U.S. weakens it pulls away from the world stage. This happened right after WW1 and a result was Germany rising to power and then WW2. I believe this could happen again causing a more chaotic and war prone environment.

If we want to prevent a war prone environment we must fix the issues at hand first. If we do not I believe the result will be more chaotic than we could have thought.
