Jesus goes to John, and is baptized by his in The Jordan River. Saint John the Baptist related the Paschal Mystery of Christ in many way throughout his life. ┬áJohn was a caring and loving man, no matter friend or not. As John states in Luke 3:11 “The man who has two tunics is to share with him who has none; and he who has food is to do likewise.” Jesus, thought exactly the same way as he believed every man should be treated with perfect love no matter friend or enemy. Next, before Jesus began his public ministry, he asked John to baptize him in the Jordan River. Obviously, John obliged. Matthew 3:16-17 of the Bible records miracles that happened at that event: “As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, ‘This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.'” John was blessed by god to be able to make miracles happen. As we all know, Jesus contributed to numerous miracles happening in his (2)lifetimes and would compare a lot alike to John. John the Baptist will forever be a Saint and will go down in history as the only person to baptize the Son of God.
